€45,000 awarded to Cancer Connect in West Cork– Daly

Cork South West Fine Gael TD and Minister of State at the Department of Health, Jim Daly, has today confirmed that Clár funding has been awarded to Cancer Connect for the purchase of a new 8 seater vehicle.

“My ministerial college Michael Ring TD confirmed to me this morning that Cancer Connect in West Cork is to receive €45,000 for the purchase of a new accessible 8 seater vehicle. ”

Cancer Connect is vital service to those who must travel from West Cork to hospitals in Cork city for treatment. The organisation covers two routes, Goleen to Cork city, passing through Skibbereen and Clonaklity and also Castletownbere to Cork city, passing though Bantry and Dunmanway.

Concluding Minister Daly said, “I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the great service those involved with Cancer Connect provide in West Cork. Hopefully this new vehicle will help ease the burden on those who must travel for treatment.”
