€13,000 in LEADER Funding for Bantry Sea Garden – Daly

Cork South West Fine Gael TD and Minister of State at the Department of Health, Jim Daly, today confirmed that Bantry Tidy Towns have been successful in their LEADER funding application.

“My Ministerial colleague, Michael Ring, confirmed to me today that just over €13,000 had been awarded to Bantry Tidy Towns for their project of creating a walking trail throughout Bantry and also to create a sea garden by the harbour.”

The Tidy Towns group have been awarded up to 75% of the cost of the project through LEADER funding, for their walking trail project in Bantry which will include the creation of a sea garden.

Minister Daly concluded by saying, “This is another fine example of how LEADER funding can assist a local groups in West Cork. The walking trail and sea garden will only further add to the amenities in Bantry encouraging more tourists to get out and enjoy West Cork. I would like to congratulate the Tidy Towns committee on their success and also to thank them for the hard work they do in the community which is appreciated by all.”
