Drinagh Welcomes An Taoiseach – Daly

Cork South West Fine Gael TD and Minister of State Jim Daly has today confirmed that An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is to visit Cork South West this Friday July 20th.

“It is my privilege to welcome An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, to my home village of Drinagh this Friday, which will be a historic day for the area.

Drinagh, and more importantly the people in the community are a shining example of a rural village thriving in modern day Ireland, and I look forward to showcasing my home village, and its successful enterprises to the Taoiseach. ”

An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will be visiting Drinagh Co-Op to officially open the New Mills at 2.30pm. Also in the itinerary of the Taoiseach’s trip to West Cork is a visit to St. Mary’s Church, Dunmanway. Here he will launch a new promotional video for Dunmanway town and ring the Sam Maguire Bells. Following this he will walk the town to engage with local residents and business owners.

“As Minister I have regular opportunities to speak to the Taoiseach on issues that face the people of West Cork. Now, with his personal visit this Friday I have the opportunity to show the Taoiseach on a first hand basis both the needs and the successes of the area.”

Concluding Minster Daly said, “I have brought Leo down to Cork South West previously in his capacity as Minister where he visited Bandon, Clonakilty and Skibbereen. I am now delighted to bring him down to West Cork once again to visit Dunmanway and Drinagh.”
