€250,000 for Bandon Community Hospital

Cork Southwest Fine Gael TD Jim Daly has confirmed that the HSE has allocated €250,000 towards the upgrade of existing beds in Bandon Community Hospital. The announcement follows the visit of a delegation of the Friends of Bandon Community Hospital to meet with Health Minister James Reilly and officials from the HSE in Dublin on the 7th of November last year. The meeting between the delegation led by the Mayor of Bandon Cllr. Deirdre Lane and the Minister was arranged by local TD Jim Daly.

Confirming the allocation for Bandon Hospital, Deputy Jim Daly stated that the money would go towards upgrading the existing facilities to ensure that the hospital meets the HIQA standards for 2015. “This allocation is particularly welcome and will go towards ensuring the highest level of care is provided to the patients of Bandon Community Hospital.” added Mr. Daly.

The HSE management in West Cork informed Deputy Daly that they will meet with the Friends of Bandon Hospital in the coming weeks to discuss how they can work together to ensure that this upgrade is completed to a very high standard.
