Would you like to be in the Chamber at Newgrange for the Winter Solstice this year?

The Office of Public Works is delighted to announce that it will be running an Art Competition for
primary and post-primary school children, with the winning entrants being present for the Winter
Solstice at Newgrange on Saturday 21st December 2013.
This year we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the inscription of Brú na Bóinne on UNESCO’s
World Heritage Sites list and we hope this will inspire the creation of art work on the following theme:
Newgrange – The Winter Solstice
Entry is Free – full details and rules of the competition are available on www.heritageireland.ie
Winners will be present in the chamber with a parent/guardian for one of the most important
events in the heritage calendar.
Closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 15th November 2013.
